Have you ever had the feeling that something isn’t quite right?
Nothing is necessarily wrong.
You have a job. A business. A home. People you love. You may even have achieved many of the things you once dreamed about.
And yet, something inside you keeps whispering:
“There has to be more.”
This can be a difficult feeling to explain.
You may even feel guilty for having it.
Because how can you be dissatisfied when you have so much to be grateful for?
But here is something I have learned through years of coaching women:
You can be grateful for the life you have created and still be ready to create something different.
You can feel blessed, but feel bored
You can feel successful, yet incomplete
The two can exist together.
You haven’t failed. You’ve simply changed.
We don’t stay the same person throughout our lives.
Our priorities change.
Our circumstances change.
Our confidence changes.
Our values can change.
What once felt exciting can eventually feel ordinary.
A career you once loved may no longer challenge you. A business you built may no longer energise you. A lifestyle that once suited you may suddenly feel restrictive.
And sometimes you can’t quite put your finger on why.
You just know.
You have outgrown something.
So, how do you know?
Perhaps you constantly think about what you could be doing.
Perhaps you feel restless, even though everything looks fine from the outside.
Perhaps you are achieving things but not feeling much satisfaction from them.
Perhaps you keep saying, “I’ll do it when…”
When the children are older.
When work settles down.
When I have more money.
When I have more confidence.
When the timing is right.
Or perhaps you simply feel disconnected from the woman you used to be — and unsure about the woman you’re becoming.
These are not necessarily signs that you need to throw your life away.
They may simply be signs that you need to pay attention.
Don’t confuse familiarity with fulfilment
One of the hardest things about change is that the familiar feels safe.
Even when it isn’t making us happy.
We can become very good at living a life that works.
But “working” and “fulfilling” are not necessarily the same thing.
Start with curiosity, not a dramatic decision
If you think you’ve outgrown an area of your life, don’t immediately make a huge decision.
Instead, give yourself some space to think.
Take a notebook and answer these questions honestly:
What am I enjoying less than I used to?
What am I craving more of?
Where do I feel most alive?
What have I been putting off?
What would I explore if I wasn’t worried about getting it wrong?
And perhaps the most important:
If I designed the next chapter of my life intentionally, what would I want it to look and feel like?
Don’t worry about having all the answers.
Clarity often comes after you start asking better questions.
Your next chapter may already be trying to emerge
Perhaps you don’t need a completely new life.
Perhaps you need a new direction.
A new challenge.
A new way of working.
A business idea.
A different environment.
More freedom.
More creativity.
More time for yourself.
Or simply permission to stop living according to an outdated version of who you thought you were supposed to be.
That is where redesign begins.
brave enough to redesign the next chapter through thought provoking and inspiring questions.
Your life doesn’t have to remain the way it is simply because you’ve been living it that way for years.
You can change direction.
You can grow.
You can want more.
And you can begin again without starting from scratch.
Ready to explore your next chapter?
If this article has made you think, “I think I’m ready for something to change, but I don’t know where to start,” that is exactly why I created Redesign.
Redesign is my guided self-coaching programme for women who want to get unstuck, gain clarity, reconnect with what matters and create a practical plan for their next chapter.
It takes you through a structured process of reflection, vision, values, mindset, goals, confidence, habits and action — so you’re not simply thinking about change. You’re doing something about it.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you begin.
You just need to be ready to start.
Explore Redesign and begin designing your next chapter
Or, if you know you need a more personal conversation, book a Transformative Consultation with me. We can look at where you are, what you want and what may need to change — practically, honestly and without the fluff.
Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stop and ask:
“What do I want my life to look like now?”
And then start designing it.
